California Knows How to Party!
The 4th of July is one of our very favorite holidays celebrations. Here’s a few from around the Central Coast.
How do you do yours on the 4th of July?
Ocean Avenue & Junipero Street
Carmel-by-the-Sea turns red, white and blue for a day packed full of live music, food, fun and games! Pack a lunch, bring a blanket and chill out to classic rock jams. Food will also be available for purchase.
4th Annual Old Fashioned
600 Pacific Street • Fire Station 11 7-11am
Family Fun includes: Kids arts & crafts, MY Museum’s Wheelie Mobilee, sit in a tire truck, face painting, and a DJ.
$10 per person for warm fluffy pancakes, eggs, sausage and all the fixings; proceeds to benefit MY Museum
Annual 4th of July Parade
Alvarado Street and Calle Principal
A must-attend celebration that draws approximately 15,000 people to line the streets in and around Old Monterey.
Come revel in the festive floats, patriotic displays, entertaining costumes, and musical bands.
32nd annual Big Little Backyard Bar-B-Que and Entertainment Extravaganza
570 Pacific St • 11am-4:30pm
Non-stop live music, children’s entertainment including free carnival booths and games, face painting and balloon artists. Lots of great food provided by non-profit food vendors will be on sale all day or you can bring a picnic lunch.
Please leave all pets at home and note that this is an Alcohol Free family event. Animals prohibited (except guide/service dogs).

Living History Day
Memory Garden at Custom House Plaza • 11am-3pm
Enjoy historic demonstrations and participate in games, rope-making, leather craft, basket weaving, military drill, watch a blacksmith make you a ring, and learn a new dance at the Custom House Fandango with live music. It’s fun for all ages! Bring the whole family right after the July 4th Parade.
Cost: $5 for adults, $2 for youth age 6-18; kids age 5 and under are free

Caledonia Park • 11am-3pm
“America’s Last Hometown” goes big at Caledonia Park, with a barbecue, live music and kids activities. Don’t miss the old-fashioned BBQ which includes chicken or hot dogs, baked beans, garlic bread, salad and dessert.
Ventura July 4th Fireworks Show & Family Picnic
4667 Telegraph Rd
5pm Gate • 9pm Fireworks
Includes a spectacular fireworks show, live music, food vendors, a Kids Fun Zone, and what they call ‘the friendliest hometown picnic in America!’ The Kids Zone will have several bounce houses and GIANT inflatable attractions, plus organized games for kids to enjoy. Food trucks and cart vendors will be serving up sweet treats! A finely-choreographed “Sky Concert” will light up the night with patriotic and contemporary musical mix at approximately 9pm.

Ojai Valley’s 4th of July Celebration: Celebrating Our Heritage
July 3 & 4
Parade will take place starting at Country Club Drive and proceed down Ojai Ave all the way to Park Rd.
July 3: Free Concert by Marcus and Shanti Keatles, and Ojai Band will be back again. 3rd annual Apple Pie Contest — the winner will receive a family pass to the fireworks show.
July 4: Fireworks show. Danny McGaw and the 33 will preforming on stage starting at 6pm then Marcus and Shanti will be back to preform the national anthem right before the fireworks display.

Channel Islands Harbor

Since 1998. The Fourth of July Celebration at Channel Islands Harbor offers a full day of activities, entertainment, and amazing food. Come and enjoy exhibits, an artist’s market, children’s rides and games and finish the day with a spectacular fireworks show.

Great Food! Live Music! Free Shuttles! Fireworks cap off the day. Tickets on sale at City Hall and at the high school on the day of the event. Bring your own picnic. Seating options include both the home and visitor bleachers; lawn seating and picnic area will be available on the main football field. Is a smoke-free event. No alcohol, marijuana, pets, or personal fireworks are allowed; all coolers will be inspected for alcoholic beverages
SANTA BARBARA COUNTY
4th of July Art Show
The Old Mission

Join for a day of great art, weather, views, food and fun on the grounds of the Old Mission Santa Barbara! 100 artists including jewelers, glass blowers, ceramics, paintings, unique objects, woodwork, furniture, clothing, leather, gifts, crafts and more! Don’t miss this incredible, once a year show which has roots dating back to the 60s. Free parking and admission. Food and beverages available for purchase.

All dogs must be registered to walk in the parade. They can be pre-registered by completing the registration form available online, or during the Pancake Breakfast from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. at the Community Center.
