Eberle Winery offers more than complimentary wine tasting. Daily cave tours, weekend entertainment on a scenic deck overlooking the vineyard, and on certain days if you sense tasty aromas wafting down CA 46 East, you know the affable founder Gary Eberle, his wife Marcy, and a team of friends is firing up the grill in the winery’s parking lot, dishing out tasty bites of tri-tip and duck sausages to surprised visitors.

With numerous awards to his credit including the 2015 Wine Lifetime Achievement Award by the State of California, Eberle is best known for planting the first true 100 percent syrah grapes in the US and co-founding the Paso Robles appellation in 1983, the sixth appellation in the US at that time.

The redwood-built ranch style winery along the busy CA 46 East is a popular wine tasting hub where no-charge tastings are the rule, not the exception.

A plethora of medals adorn the walls of the bustling tasting room where visitors can be seen enjoying complimentary tasting indoors or do so on the deck with a view before hauling cases of wine to their cars.

Besides the flagship Estate cabernet sauvignon and Steinbeck syrah, the portfolio ranges from zesty zinfandels, cherry-loaded sangiovese, bold Côtes-Du-Rôbles blends and refreshing whites such as the popular viognier and chardonnay. These wines are both approachable and age-worthy.

In celebration of its 40th anniversary the winery has planned a number of events throughout 2019. Visit www.eberlewinery.com for more info.
